Shashin, a Fellow of the British Computer Society is a creative and influential leader with over 35 years of experience in delivering business-aligned technology Strategies, Architectures and Systems across a diverse range of industries and markets. A motivational team builder and an excellent communicator with a proven track record of enthusing and energising teams to deliver technical solutions to meet corporate business needs.

Shashin was born in Uganda in 1959 and moved to the UK in 1971 when his father came for medical treatment. His family bought a small house in London in 1971 and found that full when all the Asians were expelled in 1972 providing accommodation, food and shelter to around 20 people in a 3 bedroom terrace. His family lost decades of work overnight and started almost penny less in the UK. At that young age, it was clear that Shashin needed to be strong enough to take on the responsibility to see the family through the hard times ahead.

Shashin graduated in 1981 with a degree in computer science and started his professional career working for Logica. Shashin had also been searching for greater meaning and purpose for his life ahead and after much exploratory research on religion and philosophy came to know of the spiritual teachings of the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University in 1981 which he continues to this day to apply in his day to day life. 1981 was a key defining year as Shashin embarked on his professional and spiritual career hand in hand and that has continued to this day.

Shashin has broad industry exposure covering Technology, Communications, Defense, Finance, Transport, Utilities, Consumer, Public Sector, Automotive, Broadcasting and Media sectors. Shashin has previously worked for leading global systems integrators and big four consultancies including Logica, System House, Deloitte and Andersen Business Consulting.

Shashin currently has a team of IT professionals located in the UK and India that he manages across two niche consulting businesses he runs called “One Point Consulting” and “OSSCube UK Ltd”. Shashin likes to manage his team more as a family unit rather than a business and strives towards incorporating spiritual values and modern management techniques based on evolving management thinking such as “TEAL” organisations.

Shashin has helped well-known brands such as Sky, Eutelsat, British Telecom, Carphone Warehouse, AOL Broadband, Tesco, UK Broadband, Network Rail, Travis Perkins, Reliance Jio with major transformation programmes.

In 1981 Shashin was inspired to define three main objectives in his life and define what “success” would mean for him. These were :

(1) To be able to look after the self on mental, physical, spiritual, financial aspects without

dependence on anyone.

(2) To support his extended family network.

(3) To serve the world in whatever little way one can in order to put something of value back into society.

Success to Shashin is defined to live a practical life based on spiritual values and attaining these three objectives.

Today, the first two objectives have been completed but need sustenance. Shashin is a bachelor life with his elderly mom, uncle and aunt and continues to support the rest of his extended international family from different faith and religious backgrounds. With respect to the third objective, much still needs to be done. Since 1985 through association with the Brahma Kumaris, Shashin has been instrumental in developing a team of volunteers globally who have helped in implementing various technologies to support the global work of the Brahma Kumaris. Shashin’s aspiration is to continue his spiritual and professional development so that he can continue to serve his family, friends, colleagues and the world out there as best.
